ARTWORK SAVING GUIDELINES FOR EXPANDA SIGN
Artwork to be presented in digital format (i.e.
on disk). This guide will explain the file formats required from the most
popular computer design package.
The Hint's and Tip's section provides information on what type of images
to use for the best looking results.
Support: Artwork will only be accepted in digital format. Apple Macintosh
format is preferred though some Windows PC design packages are also acceptable.
Media: E-mail is the preferred media, in ai files. Data will only be accepted
in the following storage media. Preferably CD (Mac files and folders) or
As new media becomes popular we will inform you of its acceptance. A colour
visual is to be sent with full colour artwork, such as Chromolin or other
high quality image for colour matching. For spot colour artwork pantone
references will be matched as close as possible to visual. Pantone colour
references or cmyk break downs are to be supplied.
Software Tips: Freehand Save all text to paths. Supply any layers used in
the file. Converted to paths. Illustrator Convert all type to outline. Leave
any layers used in the file. Do not check "Split Complex Paths" or "Compatible
Gradient Printing" in document setup. Photoshop Text will bitmap when blown
up to exhibition size, so use a vector program i.e. Illustrator for text.
Images must be at least 72dpi (72 pixels per inch at 100% of output image
size) at final print size. Scans need to be supplied in layers in order
to apply the design and to manipulate images to fit banner templates. Unfortunately
Gif's and Jpeg's are of low image quality and are insufficient for large
digital output. High resolution scans are recommended for optimum quality.
Design Hints and Tips: Whilst every effort is made to match specific colours,
due to the nature of the substrate we cannot guarantee exact matches.
